Inu-vations Inc. was founded in 2018 by Inuit craftsman Dino Bruce, alongside his son, Chad Bruce. Both Dino and Chad were born and raised in Coral Harbour, Nunavut, where they grew up immersed in Inuit culture, traditions, and life on the land.
From a young age, Dino spent his time hunting, preparing food, and learning the same essential skills his own elders had passed down to him. Like many Inuit men of his generation, he developed a deep respect for tools and craftsmanship — understanding that every tool had to be reliable, purposeful, and made to last. This appreciation naturally evolved into a passion for working with his hands.
As Dino grew older, he began crafting uluit, blending traditional Inuit design with his own growing knowledge of materials and modern techniques. When he became a father, he taught Chad the very same skills he had learned — hunting, working with tools, and crafting with intention — passing down not just techniques, but the cultural meaning behind them.
What began as a personal craft rooted in heritage eventually became the foundation of Inu-vations Inc.
Today, Dino and Chad handcraft every blade that Inu-vations produces. Their work is driven by pride in their Inuit heritage, a commitment to quality, and a desire to carry forward a traditional Inuit tool in a modern, refined way — honoring the past while building something lasting for the future.
